I didn't quite want to go to bed tonight, so I decided to post. I know most of you have seen these, but I just got the blog version of my engagement pics, so I thought I could post them, since I love them so much :)
Also, if any of you are interested, here is our wedding blog. http://www.weddingwire.com/rmbrunson I am always updating it, and the date on there is VERY tentative, we keep having to push it back because our sealing cancellation is taking a lot loner than planned. Good news is, though, I think we are on the downhill slope. As far as mine is concerned they just got the letter from my ex and my bishop interviewed me. From there, my bishop needs to write a letter to Rick's bishop for some reason and a letter to the first presidency, then he sends all of the paperwork to the stake president (good thing my dad is in the stake presidency, I have sweet connections there) and he has to interview me and send papers in, and then the first presidency takes charge. So, I know this is VERY unlikely, but at the soonest, if they each took a week, we could get the grand okay in three weeks, and we would plan for a date around 1 month after that. Yikes, we are coming up on being engaged for 5 months now, and still not a date set. Oh well, I've been told that every thing happens on God's time and I have heard some cool stories about that, so even though it can be hard to be patient, I am doing my best. :) It's all in God's hands, and really, who's hands would be better than His?
Well, it's that time of year again! As if the normal hustle and bustle isn't enough, I got a new job that keeps me extremely busy, and I am really enjoying it. I just wanted to type up a quick post telling all of you how much I love and appreciate you, since this is the season. I have GREAT friends and family! I hope you ALL have a VERY merry Christmas!!!
A year or so ago I took a photography class. I really enjoyed it. I was looking through a bunch of my old pictures and I enjoyed reminiscing. One assignment we had was to use color to describe emotion. We had to pick a song or poem and then take pictures that weren't literal, but used color to explain the feeling in the poem or song. I don't even remember the poem I picked, but my color was blue (calm, relaxing, etc.). I spent weeks on this assignment. I drove up to Park City to get a picture of hot air balloons lifting off, but the weather was bad that day so they didn't do it, so I just drove around beautiful Park City and then I went down to the Great Salt Lake (twice) for some more pictures. I even set up a little studio in my house to take pictures of a flower with a blue background. I really enjoyed & learned a lot from this project, and had fun looking at the pictures, so I thought I would post a few. Enjoy!
My cousin asked me to take some pictures of her family, so we went to Wheeler Farm. She has 2 really cute and active boys, we had fun. I still might edit them a bit more, but I loved the colors she picked for them. I think we got some good ones!
So tonight, my parents were supposed to baby-sit some of my nephews, but my mom was sick, so they called Rick and me. I was glad Rick was there, the boys love him! They always love to tackle him and have him play video games with them. They kept jumping on him over and over and over again. This pic is very blurry, for once all I had was my cell for a camera, so it will have to do. We had a fun night.
Nothing really new today. Thanksgiving was fun, we had a few and ate lots of good grub. It was good to see lots of family. Tonight we had my brother's family over for dinner for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner. Some of the boys discovered something new they liked to do - take pictures! I'll post a few since they will be the next famous photographers.
We've stayed busy the past week, so I thought I would do a post about every thing, instead of spreading it out through the week. First of all, Rick and I went to a flag football game of ex-football players for U of U and BYU. It was cold, and I burnt my tongue for the first of three times that weekend, but it was really fun. BYU won that one, but we all know who won the real game . . .
Then, on Friday, we baby sat for my brother and his wife. Those kids are so stinkin cute!
Case & Cole played their video games the whole time, and they were SO excited when Rick came so they could play video games with him and tackle him.
On Saturday I took pics of my friend's 3 month old. He's so cute and studly! He's also all boy!
You know how around this time of year, Dryers does the BYU and U of U ice creams? Well...
A week or so ago, Rick was over and my parents offered us ice cream. Not all that unusual. But, Rick said no (he's not the biggest ice cream fan), then we realized it was Dryer's BYU ice cream and we had to joke about it...
Yesterday I was looking in the fridge and freezer trying to find some things for dinner, and I saw something! . . .
It's a bit blurry, but how funny! I immediately sent this picture to Rick saying that my parents obviously learned their lesson, then I asked my mom about it. She said that despite it's high price, my dad said we needed to get it for Rick. Oh, my parents are the best. I love that they love Rick too!!
I need your help! Hi friends! Even though we don't have a date (we are still waiting on paperwork and on letters from the former spouses), I am still a girl, and still trying to get new ideas for the wedding. We will most likely just have a brunch (no reception) or something along those lines after the ceremony, but I am curious. I want to know what the most creative thing you have seen done at a wedding or reception. Or even something you did at your wedding and were happy you did. I am thinking I might fold some cootie catchers (remember those!?!) and put them in a glass jar for people to take.
That may be the extent of my "reception-ness" but we will see! I am mostly stuck on a guest book. I bought the cutest card that ideally, I would like to put on the cover of a creative album for people to sign, but I am having a really hard time finding an album that would fit it. Any ideas?
I also saw the cutest idea for a wedding album, you get some old vintage post cards and have people write notes on the back for you.
Okay! Here is is! I got to pick up my wedding dress! I love it. I already had my big poofy princess dress, so this one is sassy, and modest and relatively simple. It has some bead work, but the pictures don't show it. I still need slight alterations, but it fits really well! I will wear red shoes under it... go Utes ;) And I think I will have my hair down but curly (if my hair will cooperate... for those of you who don't know my hair, it has only curled once in my life for my friends wedding. As a kid, my mom would give me perms, but they just wouldn't work)
We still don't have a date and we are waiting on the letters from our former spouses and paperwork, but you know I will keep you posted!
The other night, I helped babysit my two nieces. We ended up having a whole lot of fun. At dinner, the 3 year old started gargling her milk out of no where. It cracked me up. I gave one of them my point and shoot camera to play with, and she loved taking pictures... she even took one of my bottom when I was bending over writing a message. Needless to say, I won't post that one. :) But as usual, here are some pictures to prove the fun time we had.
Attempt number one of her taking a picture of me :)
Attempt number two worked out well.
PS- I got my wedding dress!! :) I love it. Pics to come!
